The structure is made from coral-stone and gypsum, typical materials used in the Gulf region before the rise of modern construction methods. The cylindrical tower features traditional architectural elements such as narrow slits for archers and thick walls to withstand attacks. As Dubai evolved into a modern metropolis, many of its historic buildings were lost to development. However, recognizing the cultural value of sites like Burj Nahar, the Dubai Municipality undertook efforts to restore and preserve the tower.
