OnePlus Pad 3 features a 13.2-inch LTPS LCD with 2,400 x 3,392px resolution and a variable 144Hz refresh rate. The panel gets HDR10 support with Dolby Vision, 12-bit color rendering and 98% DCI-P3 coverage.

You also get Adaptive tone, which adjusts color temperature based on your ambient lighting conditions. The display boasts a 7:5 aspect ratio, which is ideal for multitasking in landscape mode, but it also adds longer top and bottom black bars when watching videos.

We measured 842 nits max brightness in auto mode, which is great for an LCD display and among the highest scores we've seen from a non-OLED tablet. This results in a pleasing contrast ratio of 1:1239 The screen can be set to a variety of refresh rates—60, 90, 120, and 144 Hz—depending on the application. There are three refresh rate modes out of the box with High maxing out 144Hz at all times, Auto select dials between 60-144Hz as the middle ground for performance and battery endurance. Standard mode is capped at 60Hz to help conserve battery.

Dolby Vision HDR is supported on the display. It can playback up to 4K HDR content in YouTube but it is not recognized by the major streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime Video, so you're limited to non-HDR playback at 1080p resolution there.

OnePlus Pad 3 is equipped with a 12,140mAh battery. It received a 10:49h Active Use Rating. The highlight here is the video streaming performance where Pad 3 managed 14:14h - the highest number we've seen from a tablet in our tests. That's coupled with an impressive 8:21h outing in the gaming test.

In the Wi-Fi call and web browsing tests, Pad 3 failed, lowering its overall score. But despite these setbacks, you can expect great endurance from the Pad 3, especially if you prioritize video streaming.

The Pad 3 comes with 80W fast charging, but you'll need to bring your own charger. We used an 80W Oppo SuperVOOC charger for our testing. So, how well did the Pad 3 work? It reached a 22% charge after 15 minutes and was sitting at 40% at the half-hour mark. The full charge took 1 hour and 29 minutes, which is respectable given the massive 12,140mAh cell.

Just like on its smartphones, OnePlus allows you to limit the battery charging level to 80% in order to delay battery ageing. Pad 3 can also learn from you charging habits and defer charging to 100% shortly before it predicts you'll use the device.

Pad 3 comes with a revamped eight-speaker system consisting of four woofers and four tweeters. In our loudness test, the OnePlus Pad 3 received a Very Good score with this setup. It covered a wide soundstage and its speakers get plenty loud, which makes for a great multimedia experience. Our tests show impressive playback across the frequency range, though mid-bass and highs left some to be desired.
